Third of a sheet of Space Shuttle 18 cent stamps

Here is 1/3 of a sheet of used Space Shuttle stamps.  The stamps face value are 18 cents.  They are postmarked from Altoon, PA in 1989.  Hmmm….wonder what was shipped using all these stamps.

These stamps were issued right after the maiden voyage of the Space Shuttle Columbia on April 12th, 1981.  The Space Shuttle Columbia, on it’s 107th mission, disentigrated during reentry on February 1st, 2003.

How about an old Russian stamp.  This stamp has never been used and does not have the jagged edges typical to a stamp (imperforated).  It is pretty cool to think this stamp was made in Russia so long ago, was never used and is in our hands right now.  Think of all the things that have happened from then to now!
